Hello!
My name is Jen Smith and I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. While working at the BSU Writing Center during undergrad, I helped students work through the sometimes-tortuous writing process. It was then I realized my greatest passion was helping people find the courage within themselves to face the stuff that gets in the way.
I began my studies at Northwest Nazarene University in the Marriage & Family Counseling track in 2009 and obtained my degree and license in 2013.
Making a connection with a counselor you trust is so important. I chose to do this work because I am passionate about helping people, not fixing them, and I have personally experienced very powerful changes in my own life from facing my “stuff” with a professional counselor. I believe in this process.
I am married to my best friend and together we have a daughter, 2 large dogs, and 2 moody cats. Our most recent addition, a black and white Bernedoodle, keeps us all very busy.
I have experience and training in helping people with the following:
Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Family Dynamics, Self-Esteem & Self-Worth Issues, Trauma, Life Transitions, Parenting, and Relationships.
